BSSC CGL Prelims Exam Pattern

The BSSC CGL Preliminary Exam is divided into 3 sections i.e, 1. General Science, 2. General Science and Mathematics, and 3. Comprehension/ Logic/ Reasoning/ Mental Ability. Each section carries 50 questions. Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks while each wrong answer deducts 1 mark.

Physical Ability Test

The candidates have to complete a 1 mile run in 6 minutes to be eligible for the physical measurement and test except for those applying to the post of Forest Range Officer.

Main Exam

The BSSC CGL mains exam is divided into 2 papers: Paper-1 and Paper-2. The exam pattern of the mains stage is as given below:

Paper-1

The main exam paper 1 is a language paper conducted for a total of 400 marks. It will have 100 questions from the Hindi language. Candidates must score a minimum of 30% marks to be eligible for paper-2.

Paper-2

Paper-2 of the BSSC CGL recruitment 2022 exam is divided into 3 sub-sections: Section A- General Studies, Section B- General Science and Mathematics, and Section C- Mental Ability. The pattern of this paper will be the same as that of the preliminary exam. It comprises 150 questions that carry a total of 600 marks. Each correct answer is awarded 4 marks while each wrong answer 1 mark is penalized.

Interview

All the candidates who applied for the post of Forest Range Officer will be eligible for the personality test/ Interview process once they clear the written exams. The candidates will be marked on various factors such as communication abilities, mental awareness, and other such skills. There is no specific syllabus available for this stage.
