Every candidate needs to pay a certain application fee to complete the ESIC Stenographer application process. Phase – I: Main Exam

The first phase of the ESIC Stenographer selection process is the main exam. It is conducted in an online mode and contains 200 objective-type questions. The final merit list is to be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained by candidates in the Phase-I examination.

Phase – II: Stenography Test

The second phase includes a Computer Skill Test and a Stenography Test. The Stenography Test is conducted to test the shorthand typing skills of candidates either in English or Hindi. ESIC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria 2023

Age Limit

The age limit for candidates applying for the ESIC Stenographer Recruitment 2023 must be between 18 to 27 years on the closing date of the application form.

Educational Qualification

In order to be eligible to apply for the ESIC Stenographer Recruitment process 2023, candidates must possess the following educational qualifications:

ESIC Stenographer Exam Pattern 2023

The ESIC Stenographer exam pattern 2023 includes a main exam, computer skill test, as well as stenography test. The complete details of each of these is provided below. One must prepare according to the ESIC Stenographer syllabus and marking scheme given in the exam pattern.

Phase – I: Main Exam

• The examination will be held in online mode.
• All questions will be objective- type.
• It will be a 2-hour long examination for a total of 200 marks.

Candidates qualifying the main test will have to appear for the skill test. Candidates must have short-hand typing skills either in English or Hindi. They are given dictation for 10 minutes at the speed of 80 words per minute.

The qualifying criteria are different for different categories of candidates, as explained in the table below.

Note: Working knowledge of PwD candidates who are unable to type will be assessed through an objective type Computer Test of 50 marks having 50 questions and no negative marking. Both the Computer Test and the Stenography Test for such candidates will be of qualifying nature and marks obtained will not be considered for the merit list.

A Stenographer is a shorthand writer who transcribes the spoken words by typing them into a steno machine. The necessary qualifications for this post are –

• Typing skills and a fast-typing speed.
• Certification and license in typing and clearing the exam.

• A stenographer is attached to a senior officer, and their responsibility is to copy what the senior person says.
