Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Selection Process

The Indian Coast Guard AC Selection Process comprise 5 stages. These include the following:

Stage 1– Screening Test(CGCAT): will be a computer-based test

Stage 2Preliminary Selection Board: will include Computerised Cognitive Battery Test (CCBT) and Picture Perception & Discussion (PP&DT)).

Stage 3- Final Selection Board: will include Psychological Test, Group Task, Interview

Stage 4 – Medical Examination

The applicant must compulsorily be an Indian citizen for Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant recruitment.

Indian Coast Guard AC Educational Qualification

The application form of the applicants who don't have the required qualification will be rejected.

Cadre Educational Qualification
General Duty

(i) Candidates who have passed Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university with a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate (i.e. 1st Semester to 8th Semester for BE/B.Tech Course or 1st year to last year for Bachelor Degree candidates wherever applicable).

(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XIIth of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with 60% aggregate in Mathematics and Physics. {Candidates not in possession of Physics and Maths in 10+2 (intermediate) or equivalent level are not eligible for General Duty (GD)}.

CPL SSA (i) Passed class 12th with Physics and Mathematics subjects (at least 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics). Candidates who have completed a diploma (minimum 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics subjects) can also apply.
(ii) Should possess a valid Commercial Pilot Licence
issued by Director General Civil Aviation
Technical (Electrical, Electronics)

(i) Engineering degree in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks, or equivalent qualification in any of these disciplines from a recognized university/ institute
(ii) Mathematics and Physics as subject up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55%
aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics (candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible if they possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and maths subjects).

Technical (Mechanical)

(i) Engineering degree or equivalent qualification in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks.

(ii) Mathematics, and Physics as subjects up to intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with a minimum 55% aggregate in Mathematics and Physics (candidates who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible if they possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and maths subjects).

Law A degree in Law from a recognized university (at least 60% aggregate marks).

Indian Coast Guard Assistant Commandant Exam Syllabus

The CGSAT will consist of multiple-choice questions only. For the PSB stage, the question paper will consist of the Mental Ability Test/ Cognitive Aptitude Test and Picture Perception & Discussion Test (PP&DT).
