KPSC KAS Recruitment Selection Process 2022
Candidates who are willing to apply for the KPSC KAS Exam 2022 should know the selection process beforehand. Candidates will have to go through certain stages to get selected finally. We have provided detailed insights regarding the KPSC KAS selection process as expected.
- Prelims: The first stage in the selection process for KPSC KAS recruitment is the Prelims exam, which consists of 2 papers of objective-type questions. Candidates who clear the prelims stage will only be eligible for the next exam stage, the Mains.
- Mains: The mains stage consists of written exams to be given by selected candidates from the Prelims stage. There are 9 papers in total, and all of them are essay/ descriptive type papers. All the candidates appearing for the mains exam will also be eligible for the interview stage. The mains stage specifically is of 1750 marks.
- Interview: All candidates who have been filtered from the Prelims stage are eligible for the interview. This is a qualifying round for all students, and only the final merit list is released after this. This entire stage has been allotted 200 marks.
- Document Verification: Selected candidates who have cleared the mains stage and the interview stage are called up for document verification, post which they are given the post that they had applied for.
Documents Required for KPSC KAS Recruitment
The document verification stage of the KPSC KAS Recruitment is an important part of the selection process, and the selected candidates are required to submit all the certificates mentioned below to complete the recruitment.
- Educational qualification certificates of 10th and 12th both.
- Caste certificate if the candidate has applied under it.
- Passport size photographs of the candidate.

Across the general category, the minimum age limit is 21 years, and the maximum age is 35 years for any candidate. For other categories, this limit has been exceeded to 40 years.

KPSC KAS Educational Qualifications
For all applicants of the KPSC KAS exam, it is a must to have a graduate degree from a recognized board or university in the country. All candidates must also know the Kannada language.
KPSC KAS Eligibility Criteria – Number of Attempts
Applicants in the General category can attempt examinations up to five times, while candidates in the OBC category are qualified till 7 Attempts. The SC/ ST category candidates are not bound in the number of attempts.
KPSC KAS Eligibility Criteria – Experience
For the KPSC KAS Eligibility Stream 1 post, no unique experience is required. But applicants must be active probationers in any government agency for Stream 2 positions. Similarly, applicants must have ended probation in any Cadre for the Stream 3 positions.

After clearing the initial stages of the KPSC KAS Selection Process, shortlisted candidates are selected for an interview round. The interview session is also known as the personality test that the candidate goes through. Here are a few points to keep in mind while sitting for the personality test.
- The personality test is taken by the members from KPSC.
- The maximum marks allotted to the interview are 200.
