OSSTET Exam 2022: Notification, Application Dates, Syllabus, Eligibility Criteria!

OSSTET Exam New Notification has been released. The State Government of Odisha had decided to conduct a Teacher Eligibility Test called OSSTET for the appointment of Teachers in the secondary schools of the state. Candidates can apply from 14th November 2022 to 23rd November 2022. The OSSTET stands for Odisha Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test. The candidates who shall clear this exam shall obtain TET certification which in turn could be used to apply for various teaching job opportunities in the State.

  • This TET exam is conducted for two categories of teachers i.e. Education Teachers (Trained Graduate Teachers in Science/ Arts, Hindi/ Classical Teacher (Sanskrit/ Urdu/ Telugu), and Physical Education Teacher.
  • The candidate who shall score 60% marks in the exam shall be considered to have qualified OSSTET. In the case of SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC candidates, the qualifying marks shall be 50%.
  • The interested aspirants must note that merely qualifying the OSSTET exam does not guarantee employment. The OSSTET Pass Certificate will be treated as one of the essential eligibility criteria for appointment to the post of Secondary School Teacher.

OSSTET Exam Apply Online

The candidates need to follow the instructions provided below. The registration for the OSSTET Exam is started on 14th November 2022 and will continue till 23rd November 2022.

Step 2: New candidates need to proceed to "Click here New Registration".

Step 3: Enter your name, desired password, category, mobile number, and email ID in order to apply.

Step 4: Log in using your credentials after a successful registration. After “Login” candidates will have to enter a verification code which shall be sent to the registered mobile number and thereafter click on the “Verify” button. If the verification code is correct, candidates will be directed to the login screen to log in again so that you will be directed for payment of fee through online mode.

Step 5: Enter your personal information, eligibility, educational qualification, etc.

Step 6: The candidates also need to upload the required certificates/ documents/ photos in jpg/jpeg/.jpg/.png format within the specified size. The candidates can use the PrepForSure Resize Tool.

Step 7: After filling the form completely, the candidates can submit the form.

Step 8: Take the print copy of the “Acknowledgement Receipt” and preserve it for further use.

The OSSTET eligibility criteria have been defined in terms of nationality and educational qualification. In addition to these criteria, the candidates must possess the ability to read and write Odia language.

    • Hindi Sikshyan Parangat from Kendriya Hindi Sansthan, Agra.

Along with the above-prescribed qualification, the applicant must also have the ability to read and write in Odia. Any one of the following qualifications can be considered as proof for the same:

  • The applicant must have passed the HSC exam conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha, or an equivalent examination with Odia as a language subject i.e. 1st, 2nd, or 3rd language.
  • The candidate must have passed the +2/ Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha with Odia as an exam subject.
  • He/she must have passed the Odia exam of HSC/10th Std single subject examination conducted by the B.S.E., Odisha.

OSSTET Selection Process 2022

  • The candidates need to score minimum passing marks i.e  45% (35% for SC/ ST/ PH/ SEBC) in each paper in order to qualify for the exam.
  • The successful candidates shall be awarded OSSTET Pass Certificate by the B.S.E., Odisha.
  • This OSSTET Pass Certificate shall remain valid till the candidate reaches the upper age limit prescribed for recruitment of teachers as per rules or executive instructions prescribed by the Govt. from time to time.
