India's border guarding force, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), is stationed along the country's border with Nepal and Bhutan. It is one of the five Central Armed Police Forces under the Ministry of Home Affairs' administrative jurisdiction (MHA).The force was founded in 1963 under the name Special Services Bureau to strengthen India's border areas against hostile operations in the aftermath of the Sino-Indian War. In 2018, the SSB's civil wing, which numbered 1,800 people, was moved to the Intelligence Bureau. Sashastra Seema Bal has released a notification to recruit candidates for the Sub Inspector post.

SSB SI Selection Process 2021

The authorities have not yet released the selection process for the SSB SI Recruitment 2021. However, below mentioned are the expected stages of the selection process as per the previous notification.

• Physical Efficiency Test
• Physical Standard Test
• Written Examination
• Skill Test

Candidates whose application forms are found to be in order will be issued an Admit Card to report at the recruitment venue. 

1. Physical Efficiency Test ( PET)
After identification with Admit Card candidates will be allowed for the recruitment tests. PET will be conducted in the first stage for all the posts (HC, ASI & SI) which consist of 3.2 Kms race in 14 minutes. PET will be only qualifying in nature and it will not carry any marks.

2.  Physical Standard Test (PST)
Candidates qualified in the PET will have to undergo PST (Height, Chest & Weight measurement) as given category wise below.

• Garhwali, Kumaoni, Gorkha, Dogra & Maratha and candidates belonging to Sikkim, Leh & Ladakh, Kashmir Valley, North-Eastern State (Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Assam etc) and Himachal Pradesh Height: 165 Cms, Chest: 78-83 Cms
• ST/ Adivasis – Height: 162.5 Cms, Chest: 76-81 Cms
• All other Candidates – Height: 170 Cms, Chest: 80-85 Cms
  Weight – Proportionate to height

3. Documentation
Candidates qualified in the PST will undergo the Documentation process. Candidates will have to produce all original documents/ certificates in proof of details as filled in the application form.

4. Written Exam.
Candidates qualified in the PST, PET and Documentation will be allowed to appear in the Written Exam.

SSB SI Exam Pattern 2021

The Written test for the post of SSB SI will consist of objective-type multiple choice questions from General Knowledge, Mathematics, Reasoning and General Hindi / English sections.

• The duration of the exam will be two hours.
• A total of 100 questions are asked carrying one mark each.

SSB SI Recruitment Salary Details
